TechnologyHuman-Centered Design Lead
Remote (United States) · Contract / Full-time
About the role
DCLS builds digital services that people can actually use, and for public-sector and healthcare clients that often means designing for people under stress, on older devices, in a second language. The Human-Centered Design Lead owns research and design on these engagements.
You plan and run research, turn findings into service and interface design, and make accessibility and plain language non-negotiable. You bring clients along so the design decisions stick after the engagement ends.
What you’ll do
- Plan and conduct user research, including with multilingual and low-connectivity audiences.
- Translate research into service blueprints, journey maps, and interface designs.
- Lead accessibility (WCAG 2.x) and plain-language practice on each project.
- Facilitate co-design sessions with client teams and end users.
- Partner with engineers to ship and validate designs.
- Contribute to proposals and design-capability development.
What you bring
- 6+ years in UX research and design, including service design.
- Portfolio showing research-driven work shipped to production.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Experience with government or healthcare digital services is a plus.
- Strong facilitation and client communication.
How to apply
Complete the short application form — it takes about 5–10 minutes, and you can attach your resume and, optionally, a cover letter. Questions? Email hr@dclsglobal.com.
