Cloud Solutions Architect

About the role

DCLS helps client organizations modernize on the cloud: migrating workloads, redesigning for reliability and security, and setting up the operating model to run it. The Cloud Solutions Architect leads the technical design on these engagements.

You assess the current environment, define the target architecture, and guide client and DCLS engineers through migration and modernization. For government clients, you design to their compliance baselines.

What you’ll do

• Assess client cloud environments, workloads, and modernization goals.
• Define target architectures for migration, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
• Guide implementation across infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, networking, and identity.
• Establish cloud operating practices — monitoring, governance, and cost management.
• Design to relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53) for government work.
• Support solutioning and estimates on proposals.

What you bring

• 5+ years in cloud architecture or platform engineering.
• Depth in at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP); relevant certification preferred.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, containers, and secure network and identity design.
• Familiarity with government compliance frameworks is a strong plus.
• Clear communicator with client technical and non-technical stakeholders.
